Want to be seen by prospective meeting and conference planners as a professional speaker?
One of the best ways to do that is to create a “speaker one sheet.”
This is a one page “brochure” which you have graphically designed. You can use it as the speaker page of your website (you do have a speaker page on your website, right?), you can have actual copies of it printed up and have it with you as part what you should be carrying around at all times – your business card, if you’re an author and so forth.
You can also use the pdf version as a link to include in emails when you pitch someone you want to hire you as a speaker.
Elements of your speaker one sheet include:
- Professional photo
- Benefit oriented headline and subhead
- Short paragraph detailing those headlines
- 3-5 speaking topics
- Testimonials
- Logos of companies you’ve spoken at already
- Logos of media outlets if you’d achieved publicity
- Testimonials
- Contact info.
So, you create whatever content you’re able to and then get it looking great. If you have a graphic designer, they can make it look professional – I recommend colors which match your visual branding.
If you don’t have a graphic designer, check out the vendors on fiverr.com – I just saw an offer saying she’d do your one-sheet for $15.
Go for it!
